Mrs. Mendel examined existing parish registers and Bishops' Transcripts in Bilsby, Alford, Saleby and Trusthorpe and concluded that Hester (sic) White was baptised in Saleby in 1605. He mother, Emma Carter, married John White at Saleby in 1603 and she died days after Hester's birth. Her father, John, remarried Awdrie Bonner just two months later. John White died in nearby Trusthorpe in 1616 and left a will naming his daughter Hester, sons John and Peter and wife Awdrie; held by David G. Woodward, Walla Walla, Washington.
